A graduate of the University of Oxford and the London School of Economics, Ekin has been fascinated by the crypto industry since its infancy. As early as 2013, he helped organise a seminar on Bitcoin in Istanbul and while at Oxford he wrote a research brief on the political possibilities of Ethereum.
After working in consulting and public policy in Istanbul, Brussels, London and Washington DC, he turned to journalism in 2020.
Ekin has published more than 600 articles about cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens, decentralised finance and decentralised autonomous organisations. He has been a freelance contributor to Decrypt, CoinDesk, Culture3, Motherboard (VICE), and Fortune, and has been referenced in the New York Times, The Guardian and academic journals.
Disclosure: Ekin holds over $1,000 worth of Bitcoin, Ether, Arbitrum, Gearbox Protocol, Swell staked Ether, and stablecoins. He also holds an insignificant amount in NFTs.
