TOKEN2049, the world’s largest web3 and crypto conference, wrapped up its week-long event in Singapore with record-breaking attendance.

The flagship conference, held on 18-19 September at Marina Bay Sands, brought together 20,000 attendees and featured over 800 side events across the city. As Singapore continues to grow as a fintech hub, TOKEN2049 attracted industry professionals and enthusiasts from across the globe for a week of networking, innovation, and discussion.

The speaker lineup included Ethereum Co-Founder Vitalik Buterin, whistleblower Edward Snowden, Solana Co-Founder Anatoly Yakovenko, and entrepreneur Balaji Srinivasan. Formula 1 drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez of Oracle Red Bull Racing, McLaren’s Lando Norris, Grammy-nominated artist Iggy Azalea, and entrepreneur Bryan Johnson added further appeal to the event.

TOKEN2049 also served as the backdrop for key industry announcements. Highlights included the NEXUS startup competition, where 10 finalists competed to pitch their projects to top venture capitalists, as well as updates from venture capitalist Balaji Srinivasan’s new Network School, Solana’s new crypto phone ‘Seeker,’ and BitGo’s upcoming stablecoin. Vitalik Buterin’s talk also offered a unique moment as he paid tribute to his past projects through a musical performance.

Reflecting on the event, TOKEN2049 Co-Founder Alex Fiskum said, “TOKEN2049 Singapore welcomed 20,000 attendees, with over 80% being international participants, highlighting the event’s global importance. The energy, collaboration, and positive feedback have been beyond what we expected. We’re now looking ahead to TOKEN2049 Dubai next April and are excited to continue building on this momentum.”

The week concluded with the AFTER 2049 party at the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark Observation Deck. Guests enjoyed views of the Formula 1 evening session from the 57th floor, along with performances by DJs WhoMadeWho and Da Capo, and an immersive audio experience from Polygon Production’s 360° sound system.

Following the success of TOKEN2049 Singapore, the conference now sets its sights on TOKEN2049 Dubai, scheduled for April 30 to May 1, 2025, at Madinat Jumeirah resort. TOKEN2049 will also return to Singapore on October 1-2, 2025, continuing its role as a key event in the web3 calendar.
